Herb Williams is known for sharing his talents and remarkable stories with his fellow residents at Amica Peel Village. An experienced entertainer, Herb spent more than three decades as the founder and host of SuperDogs, where he delighted audiences with a family-friendly dog show starring a cast of talented four-legged performers. Prior to this, Herb had already worked in a multitude of capacities, including as a teacher, a tour guide at General Motors, and an advertising account executive.

 

Herb’s first SuperDogs show was in 1976 at the Pacific National Exhibition and by his last appearance in 2012, he retired in his 80s, Herb was emceeing shows for audiences of over 20,000. With the SuperDogs, Herb travelled across Canada more than 30 times and entertained audiences that included celebrities Joan Rivers and Luciano Pavarotti and royals such as Princess Margaret, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and Camilla Bowles Parker.

 

Herb Williams along with his high school sweetheart and wife of 65s years, Joan, are Amica residents. In his 90s now, Herb continues his passion for performing in another capacity: performing the piano for music appreciation and he lives “every day like the best is yet to come”.
